Consent is never a condition of anything. Nobody has to agree to text messages to use this website, to send Candor AI a message, or to become a client. No message is ever sent to a member of the public who has not either written to us first or asked us, on the form below, to text them.
1. The contact form
On getcandorai.com/contact — and in Spanish at getcandorai.com/es/contacto — the contact form ends with an optional checkbox. It is unchecked by default, it is not required to submit the form, and it is separate from every other field. Checking it is the only way a person can ask Candor AI to text them about their enquiry.
This is the box, exactly as it appears on the page:
The text of the disclosure, in full
Yes, Candor AI can send me text messages (SMS) about this inquiry.
Optional, and not required to submit this form or to become a client. Message
frequency varies: you receive a reply only when you send us a message. Message
and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop messages, HELP for
help. See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Writing to us first
Candor AI's number is published on this website, and anyone can send it a question. The automated assistant answers with something Candor AI approved in advance, and sends nothing further. The person starts the conversation; we only reply. There is no keyword and nothing to subscribe to.
The invitation and its disclosures appear on the contact page, above the form:
The same disclosure sits directly beneath the phone number in the footer of every page on this website, in both languages:
What the first reply says
The first message anyone receives from Candor AI identifies the sender, says plainly that it is automated, and carries the opt-out:
Candor AI: you are texting an automated assistant, not a person. It replies only with answers Candor AI approved in advance. When it cannot answer, it will point you to a person. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. getcandorai.com
3. Candor AI's own business customers
The owner and designated staff of a business that subscribes to Candor AI can ask to be notified by text when one of their customers requests an appointment or asks a question through their own website. They ask for this directly, in writing, when their account is set up, and they give the mobile number that should receive it. Candor AI keeps a dated record of that request, and they can change it or stop the messages at any time by telling us or by replying STOP. These messages are about that subscriber's own account. They are never marketing, and this permission is never a condition of the service.
